Scottish Engineering has now delivered a series of informative webinars on the topic of Net Zero, all of which can be found here. In our feedback series, whilst we are sharing our learnings and findings collected when developing Scottish Engineering own roadmap and during our interactions with Scottish businesses and skill providers, we are delighted to be joined with some of our members to share their own experience, learnings and findings gathered during their Net Zero journey.

Highland Spring Group, one of the UK’s leading producers of natural source waters, recently had their net-zero target approved by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) under the new Net-Zero Standard.

The company has committed to reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline, and to reduce absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 46.2% within the same timeframe. The business also commits to reduce absolute scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions by 90% by 2040 from a 2019 baseline.

We have invited Morwen Mands, Head of Sustainability, to share her insights, lessons learned and experiences on their Net Zero and SBTi journey. Morwen will discuss the company’s sustainability ambition, challenges encountered and how they successfully overcame them.

To support this ambitious target, the company recently launched a new rail freight facility in Blackford, which will remove 8,000 lorry movements from the road each year. As part of our webinar series, we have invited Morwen Mands, Head of Sustainability, to share her insights, lessons learned and experiences on their Net Zero and SBTi journey. Morwen will discuss the company’s sustainability ambition, challenges encountered and how they successfully overcame them.
