Building Scotland’s Rail Supply Chain

Event description

In collaboration with colleagues from the Scottish Rail Cluster Project, Alstom will be holding an in-person supply chain event on 11 May in Glasgow – the day of the Scottish Engineering Awards Dinner 2023. Alstom is the UK’s foremost supplier of new trains and train services, and a major supplier of signalling and rail infrastructure. We have built, or are building, almost 40% of the UK mainline train fleet. We strongly support the Scottish Government’s plans to remove diesel trains from the network by 2035 – and believe that Scotland’s SMEs must be given every opportunity to play their part in meeting this goal.

With many train fleets across the UK halfway or more into their expected operational life of 35-40 years, the event will also be an important opportunity to hear about how you can support the UK’s rail sector. From the manufacture of new trains and the overhaul of existing fleets, the opportunity with Alstom extends far beyond Scotland.

At this event you will hear from senior Alstom leaders on a range of topics, take part in engaging Q&A sessions and network over lunch.

Expressions of interest are welcome from Scottish SME businesses with relevant capabilities, especially in the following areas:

  • Electrical & Mechanical Engineering
  • Interiors eg. seats, lighting, floor and wall covering
  • Energy efficiency and green mobility solutions
  • Services to support depot operations

Please register your interest by clicking the button at the bottom.

A formal invitation with further details will be issued for the in-person event over the next few weeks.

Spaces will be limited, however Alstom have offered to organise a follow up online event with the Rail Cluster to further connect with potential suppliers.

We look forward to hearing from you.
