Mental Health in the Workplace – Half Day Training
Mental health issues affect many employees and employers and can lead to absence from work, operational problems and decreased productivity.
Scottish Engineering has invited guest speakers from the following organisations:
Headtorch – an organisation which aims to help employers and employees to create an environment conducive to positive mental health at work.
MacOH – an occupational health provider employing both nursing staff and doctors.
These speakers will discuss with the attendees, how to avoid mental health problems at work and also how to get the best out of an occupational health referral in cases involving mental health. They will also speak about the work carried out by their respective organisations and attendees will have an opportunity to engage with their representatives.
Scottish Engineering will also participate in the session to tackle the issue of the practical management of employees with mental health problems both at work and in relation to absences from work.
While ultimately prevention is better than cure, information will be provided on how to tackle both.
