SCOTTISH ENGINEERING APPOINTS NEW PRESIDENT

Scottish Engineering has appointed Alastair Johnstone as President of the organisation.

Mr Johnstone, Managing Director of Bosch Rexroth in Glenrothes, was welcomed by John Howie MBE, the retiring President, at Scottish Engineering’s AGM in the Glasgow HQ on Thursday 21st December.

As he took over the role, Mr Johnstone said: “I am honoured, delighted and indeed humbled to take over this prestigious position within our industry.  The previous incumbents, dating back to 1865, form an impressive list of engineers and business leaders and it is my intention to do my utmost to continue to uphold this legacy.”

Welcoming the new President, Scottish Engineering’s CEO, Bryan Buchan, said: “Alastair has been a loyal member of our Executive Committee for a number of years and I have no doubt whatsoever that he will make an excellent President for our organisation.”
