Engineering Education Scheme Scotland

 

The Annual Exhibition and Awards Day event was recently held at Sensation, the Dundee Science Centre.  Three teams were presented with awards on the day, these are shown below (click on the picture to see larger version).  Our thanks to the company engineers, teachers, students and sponsors for making the event such a success.  For more details of projects completed by the teams please see the Workshops section below.

John R Muckersie Award for exemplification of team spirit was awarded to the Forfar Academy team working with LADCO.

The Royal Academy of Engineering Award for overall excellence and an Institution of Mechanical Engineers Award for the application of mechanical engineering principles were awarded to Woodmill High School working with Babcock Engineering Services Ltd.

The Scottish Engineering Award for effective collaboration between school and company and an Institution of Mechanical Engineers Award were awarded to Merchiston Castle School working with ERABA.

Engineering Education Scheme Workshops

 

16 teams from all over Scotland participated in Residential Project Development Workshops during September at Strathclyde, Aberdeen and Heriot-Watt Universities.  Each team is partnered by a local company who provide an industrial project.  The student teams pictured below made progress on their projects with the help of teachers, university staff and company engineers.
