While working to comply with European noise regulations and offer a number of benefits to its customers, a Forfar company has won a major national award.
Managing Director Alan Honig said: "We are delighted to receive this award which is the result of continuous product development work at our plant. As we continue to seek further improvements which will impact on the environment, I can reveal that we are now offering our latest low noise retractable tail lift for external accreditation to the standard". "All of our equipment is checked to pass the most stringent European regulations and I can say that, in this particular area, we offer so much more than our major competitors." The company were also awarded two certificates from the Dutch Ambassador. The equipment has been developed to be particularly attractive for out of hours delivery use where low noise disturbance is a priority. When deliveries can be made in ‘silent hours' it helps to reduce daytime congestion which in turn cuts pollution and fuel consumption from delivery lorries stuck in traffic. Dr Peter Hughes, Chief Executive of Scottish Engineering said: " I would like to congratulate the Ross and Bonnyman team on winning this national award. It reflects the amount of work they have put in to this area which contributes considerably to achieving an improved environment." "It is also, once again, heartening to see a Scottish company being recognised as exemplary in its field."
