Scottish Engineering AwardThis is an annual award presented at the Scottish Engineering Annual Awards Dinner held in Glasgow in May.The 2010 award was presented at the Scottish Engineering Annual Awards Dinner in the Marriott Hotel on the 13th May 2010. The Award is made to the company which, in the opinion of the judges, best fits the criterion, namely: "A manufacturing engineering supply company working in Scotland, which has made a significant contribution towards raising the standard of the sector and has been shown to be an appropriate standard bearer for that sector." 2010 Winner was Clyde Union Pumps, Glasgow A President's Award for Outsanding Achievement was given to Bausch & Lomb Scotland Ltd Burntisland Fabrications Ltd Castle Precision Engineering Ltd Consarc Engineering Ltd FMC Technologies Ltd Linn Products Ltd Past Winners of The Scottish Engineering Award were 2009 - Howden Group, Renfrew 2008 - Clyde Blowers, East Kilbride 2007 - Alexander Dennis Ltd (ADL), Falkirk 2006 - The Weir Group plc, Scotland 2005 - Bausch & Lomb, Livingston 2004 - Rolls-Royce, East Kilbride Scottish Engineering/Hammermen AwardIn association with the Incorporation of Hammermen we annually present an award to a young engineer who has led a project that benefited his/her company and the industry in general. The candidates submit written details of a technological project with which they have been instrumental in formulating and driving. The judges visit the finalists at their workplace where the competing engineers will make a presentation. The prize of £1,000 is accompanied by a prestigious trophy, which is held for one year. Winner for 2010 was Derek Hamilton from Star Refigeration, Glasgow Carbon Trust Award for Energy Efficiency in ManufacturingThe 2010 award was presented at the Scottish Engineering Annual Awards Dinner in the Marriott Hotel on the 13th May 2010.The winner was William Grant & Sons Distillery Ltd 1st year Modern Apprentice Craft AwardEach year we host the award ceremony for the 1st Year Engineering Craft Apprenticeship Competition. Earlier in the year the finalists for this award are involved in an all-day competition which includes a written test and a specialist skills test.
