We currently have a permanent vacancy for a Graduate Engineer to take part in a two year Technical Development Programme to train to become a Production Engineer at our Livingston Plant.
The main responsibilities of the role will be:
- Forging design for the Aerospace and Energy Industry
- Undertaking draughting and estimating duties
- Designing tooling and fixtures
- Undertaking process modeling and continuous improvement
Knowledge:
- A degree in Mechanical/Design/Manufacturing engineering
- Computer literacy with experience of CAD drawing generating and modelling systems, preferably Pro-Engineer or similar. Also knowledge of process modelling and analytical tools.
- Knowledge of Aerospace grade materials
- Excellent communication and problem solving skills, initiative, motivation and the ability to work as part of a team.

Candidates for the post should have a Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering and a NEBOSH certificate or equivalent qualifications they must also have a UK driving licence. A starting salary for the post will be in the region £26K depending on previous experience.

Castle Precision Engineering is an AS9100 approved sub-contractor, manufacturing critical precision components for the aerospace, automotive, oil and defence industries. We currently have the following excellent opportunities available to join our existing team at our advanced manufacturing facility in Castlemilk, Glasgow.
EXPERIENCED QUALITY INSPECTORS
Required to join our team of inspectors responsible for the operation and programming of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMM's); goods inward, first off, running and final inspection; maintenance of accurate inspection records; processing and reporting on non-conforming products; preparing first article inspection reports and calibration of measurement equipment. This position offers the challenge of varied and complex components, working with the very best in technology. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in inspection techniques; be qualified to HNC level (or equivalent); possess a solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards, in addition to a good knowledge of manufacturing techniques. Experience in the operation and programming of Co-ordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) is essential and knowledge of PCDMIS software would be an advantage.
EXPERIENCED MANUFACTURING/PROJECT ENGINEER
Required to join our team of Project Engineers, responsible for designated projects, profitably taking them from the quotation stage through to implementation on production machines. Your duties will include contribution to quotations; customer liaison; engineering methods planning; production of G-Code, documentation and engineering drawings and liaison with production personnel to optimise processes. This is an excellent career development opportunity which offers the challenge of varied and complex components, working with the very best in technology. You will have a minimum of 5 years experience in a qualified projects engineering role; a solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards; a good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques - milling & turning and of Fanuc controls; experience of CAD/CAM software packages, VERICUT verification software and Renishaw probing. A qualification to HNC level or equivalent and a knowledge of 5-axis manufacturing techniques would be beneficial but are not essential.
