Speaker: Iain Kyle, Gates Power Transmission Gates Power Transmission manufactures synchronous timing belts for both the Automotive and Industrial markets. Gates Power Transmission Dumfries is currently implementing a Lean Manufacturing Initiative called the Gates Production System (based on the Toyota Production System model). The Gates Production System has 6 core subject areas, which are 5S, Standardised Work, Total Productive Maintenance, Material Flow, Problem Solving and Quick Changeover (SMED). Iain has shared experiences in implementing these 6 subject areas and how the activities impact on the bottom line of the business. |
