The Lean Journey in an SME
Thursday, 18 June 2009
Speakers: David Provan, Provan Sports Ltd

PSL is a specialist sports kit and clothing supplier to football, rugby, hockey and cricket clubs both professional and amateur.

PSL works in partnership with each club to improve quality, cost and delivery. We remove waste by applying our specialist knowledge and deliver the best value for both the club and its members and supporters.

The business has been transformed over the last year applying lean techniques at a strategic and tactical level. We have identified Value and are developing Value Streams. Through our various locations we are establishing Flow and making process improvements along the way. David will share his experiences of the journey so far.

Thursday, 18 June 2009
Speaker: Alison Anderson, Jim Hamilton, Terasaki

Terasaki Electric Europe Ltd is an independent circuit breaker manufacturer with Headquarters in Clydebank serving European, Middle East and African markets from Clydebank. The target for improvements was delivery performance, using continuous improvement tools within the sales administration process to reduce time from order receipt to order completion.
A cross functional team was formed of members engaged in daily order fulfillment. The goal to improve delivery performance from 80% to 90% was achieved in 12 weeks (equates to Gross Value Add of approx. £400,000).
